There is nothing better than biting into a cold, refreshing treat on a hot summer day, and this 3 Ingredient Watermelon Sorbet is exactly that. It's smooth, naturally sweet, and incredibly refreshing.
One of my favorite summer treats has always been those little Italian ice cups from Walmart. This sorbet reminds me so much of them, except it's made with real watermelon and fresh lime juice. It's light, fruity, and you can enjoy aa much as you want because it's mostly fresh fruit.
The best part? You don't need an ice cream maker! Just freeze the watermelon, blend everything together, and you've got a homemade frozen dessert that's perfect for cooling off all summer long.
Ingredients
Watermelon: Half of a small watermelon becomes the base of this sorbet. Freezing the watermelon first creates that perfectly smooth, scoopable texture.
Sweetened Condensed Milk: Just a couple tablespoons add a touch of sweetness and make the sorbet extra creamy without overpowering the fresh watermelon flavor.
Fresh Lime Juice: A squeeze of lime brightens the entire dessert and balances the natural sweetness of the watermelon.
How to Make 3 Ingredient Watermelon Sorbet
Slice the watermelon in half and carefully scoop out the flesh, leaving the rind intact to use it as a serving bowl later.
Cut the watermelon into chunks and place them in a ziplock bag. Freeze until completely solid.
Once frozen, transfer the watermelon chunks to a blender. Add the sweetened condensed milk and the juice of one lime.
Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Depending on your blender, you may need to stop and scrape down the sides once or twice. Spoon the sorbet back into the watermelon shell and enjoy!
Tips for the Best Watermelon Sorbet
Freeze the watermelon completely. Fully frozen fruit creates the smoothest texture.
Use a ripe watermelon. The sweeter your watermelon is, the sweeter your sorbet will be.
