Why You Will Love This Creamy Avocado Steak Salad
There is so much to love about this Creamy Avocado Steak Salad! First, the flavors are incredible. You have perfectly seasoned steak, fresh vegetables, creamy avocado, grilled corn, and a smooth avocado crema dressing that ties everything together.
The homemade avocado dressing is what makes this salad stand out. It’s creamy, fresh, and full of flavor from the lime, cilantro, garlic, and Mexican crema. It coats every ingredient perfectly without overpowering the steak or vegetables. This recipe is also extremely versatile. You can serve it for lunch, dinner, meal prep, or even turn it into a rice bowl for a filling meal that everyone will enjoy.
Ingredients
- Steak:Â A ribeye steak seasoned with garlic powder, red pepper flakes, black pepper, Montreal steak seasoning, and salt creates a juicy and flavorful base for this salad. You can also use your favorite cut of steak if you prefer.
- Creamy Avocado Dressing:Â Fresh avocados, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, Mexican crema, olive oil, water, and simple seasonings blend together to create a smooth avocado crema dressing that brings the entire salad together.
- Fresh Salad Ingredients: Chopped avocado, jalapeños, tomato, red onion, and grilled corn add freshness, crunch, and a pop of color to every bite.
- Black Beans (Optional):Â Black beans are completely optional, but they are a great addition if you want extra protein or want to make this salad feel more like a Chipotle-inspired bowl.
- Optional Toppings:Â Queso fresco adds a salty, creamy finish that pairs perfectly with the steak and avocado flavors.

How to Make Creamy Avocado Steak Salad
Start by making your creamy avocado dressing. Add the avocados, lime juice, minced garlic, cilantro, Mexican crema, olive oil, water, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. The consistency should be similar to a dressing that you can easily pour over the salad. Place the dressing in the refrigerator while you prepare the rest of the salad.

Next, season your steak with garlic powder, red pepper flakes, black pepper, Montreal steak seasoning, and salt. Cook the steak on the grill until it reaches your preferred level of doneness. I recommend medium or medium rare for the juiciest and most tender steak.

While the steak rests, prepare your salad ingredients. Add the chopped avocado, jalapeños, tomato, red onion, grilled corn, and optional black beans to a large bowl.

Slice the steak into bite-sized pieces and add it to the salad. Pour the avocado crema dressing over the top and toss everything together until evenly coated. Sprinkle on some queso fresco and enjoy!

- Add more water if you prefer a thinner avocado crema dressing that pours easily.
- You can make the dressing and chop your vegetables ahead of time to make assembling this salad even quicker.
