This One-Pan Creamy Shrimp & Sausage Pasta was inspired by one of my favorite pasta dishes at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. I’m going to be bold and say this version is even better because it’s quicker to make, uses just one pan, and tastes just as rich and satisfying as the restaurant version. Plus, you don’t have to leave the house or wait on a table. Don’t get me wrong, I still love me some Cheddar’s though!
I wanted to share a simple recipe that could work for any occasion. It’s perfect for a quick weeknight meal, a fulfilling dinner for your family, or even a romantic at-home dinner. This One-Pan Creamy Shrimp & Sausage Pasta checks all the boxes and pairs beautifully with my Homemade Garlic Bread. The best part is how easy it is. You’ll feel so proud when you plate it because it looks like something straight from a restaurant.
Now, let’s get into this recipe.
Creamy Shrimp & Sausage Pasta Ingredients
- Shrimp: The main protein in this dish. I used large tiger shrimp for a juicy, meaty bite.
- Old Bay Seasoning: Gives the shrimp a bold, seasoned flavor that pairs perfectly with the creamy sauce.
- Lemon Juice: Brightens up the shrimp and balances the richness of the sauce.
- Ekrich Smoked Sausage: Adds a smoky, savory depth that makes the dish extra satisfying.
- Olive Oil: Used to cook the shrimp and sauté the veggies.
- Sweet Onion: Adds natural sweetness and builds the flavor base.
- Garlic: Brings strong, savory flavor to the sauce.
- Sun-Dried Tomatoes: Adds a slightly tangy, concentrated tomato flavor that cuts through the creaminess.
- Cajun Seasoning: Gives the sauce a warm, slightly spicy kick.
- Black Pepper, Onion Powder, and Garlic Powder: Rounds out the seasoning and adds depth.
- Heavy Cream: The base of the creamy sauce.
- Pappardelle Pasta: Wide noodles that hold onto the sauce beautifully.
- Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese: Melts into the sauce for a rich, cheesy finish.
- Fresh Parsley: Adds color and a fresh finish to the dish.

How to Make Creamy Shrimp & Sausage Pasta
Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pappardelle noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until it’s nicely browned. Remove the sausage from the pan and set it aside.
Season the shrimp with Old Bay and lemon juice. Add the shrimp to the same skillet and cook until they turn pink and lightly browned. Remove them from the pan and set aside with the sausage.
In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until the onion becomes soft and translucent. Add the sun-dried tomatoes and cook for another minute to release their flavor.
Pour in the heavy cream, add the grated parmesan cheese, and season with Cajun seasoning, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir well until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
Return the cooked pasta, shrimp, and sausage to the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated in the creamy sauce.
Top with fresh parsley and serve while hot.

Why You Will LOVE This Creamy Shrimp & Sausage Pasta
- It’s made in one pan, which means fewer dishes and an easier cleanup.
- The shrimp and sausage combo gives you the perfect balance of smoky, creamy, and savory flavors.
- It looks like a restaurant-quality meal but comes together in about 30 minutes.
- The leftovers reheat beautifully, making it perfect for lunch the next day.
What to Serve With Creamy Shrimp & Sausage Pasta
This pasta is rich, creamy, and super satisfying on its own, but it pairs perfectly with a side of warm, buttery bread. I highly recommend serving it with my Homemade Garlic Bread to soak up every bit of that creamy sauce.
